The novel influenza virus A (H1N1) has not become more severe, and the current assessment of the influenza situation is only characterised as moderately serious. The Danish pandemic preparedness plan is active and ready for further developments, including widespread infection in the Danish population. Further sporadic cases are expected in Denmark and an overall increase in the occurrence of the infection in the Danish population is considered probable during the autumn of 2009.
