Fredensborg Palace





The white baroque Fredensborg Palace was opened in 1722. It is the Queen's official residence for most of the year. In July when the Queen is on holiday, the palace, Orangery and private gardens are open to the public. 

The palace garden has a popular attraction: Normandsdalen - A Nordic Community In Stone. Seventy stone figures depicting real Norwegian and Faroese farmers and fishermen. Nearby Fredensborg town was founded when the palace was built.

Louisiana in Humlebæk

The famous Louisiana - Museum of Modern Art is located in Humlebæk, with a fine view across Øresund.

Nivå

Nivaa Yacht harbour




To the south lies Nivå Harbour – a must for sailing enthusiasts. Nivå beach resort has excellent places to swim and unique bird life.

Nivå is home to an old tile works with an annular kiln that is now a museum.

Nivaagaards Malerisamling (art museum) houses a fine collection of European Masters.

Beautiful countryside

Several small and attractive villages lie between the Øresund coast and Esrum Lake. You can cycle or stroll along the branching paths through beautiful countryside.

There are plenty of shopping opportunities and a wealth of excellent restaurants, inns and cafes in the towns.
